For something like this, I would just take the average historical
monthly expense for the "Food" expense account and amortize it daily.
I don't think it's reasonable to expect users to enter complex
formulas for recurring expenses; either it's a real, fixed expense
that recurs at fixed intervals, or it's some prediction based on a
historical query. Having flexible historical analysis would be more
relevant to me than funny state machines for building future expense
events based on my out-of-thin-air estimates.
