1.6.0 crashes when trying to save in new file format

Hmmm, seems like the upgrades I made to make 1.6.1 happy solved the 
1.6.0 problems as well.  Of course, now I have 1.6.1 running, so I 
guess I don't really need 1.6.0 :)
