displaying cheque numbers

I have 2 checking accounts, lets call them A and B. I regularly have
cheques going from A to B and B to A. I am entering the cheque number in
the Num column of the transaction description.

So when I look at the register window for account A, I see the cheque
numbers from account A's outgoing cheques. However, I also see the
cheque numbers from account B's cheques which have been deposited.

I find this to be confusing.

I definetly wish to see the cheque numbers from account A's cheques when
I view account A, but I don't really want to see other cheque numbers in
the simple-ledger view. Perhaps when I open up a split view.

Similarly, I wish to see account B's cheque numbers when I view account
B in simple-ledger view. I don't really want to see account A's cheque
numbers in the simple-ledger view of account B.

Is there a general solution to this problem?
