Sure, if such code exists.  The ltmain.sh we're using is a modified
version of a recent CVS head, modified by one of the KDE developers to
handle the dupe removals.  I glance at 1.3.5 and 1.4.2's ltmain.sh
doesn't have any mention of the variable.
