Difference between "DateEntered" and "DatePosted"?

DateEntered is the date the data about the transaction
was entered into GnuCash. DatePosted is the date the
transaction became 'official' however you want to
define that. For checking accounts, it could be the
date on the bank statement.
In this case, it sounds like they might be the same.
