pbm compiling from CVS

I am trying to install from cvs, updated as of this morning.

in /gnucash/src/doc/design while processing gnucash-design.texinfo,
version.texi: no such file or directory

The file gnucash-design.texinfo says that automake creates that file,
but it doesn't seem to work. How do I fix that ?
