Sure, but if the gnucash guys (following some ximian apps) put a bug
report menu item in, useing bugbudy I guess, this problem could almost
go away.

Yes, but having the mail disapear would mean that genuine posters would
not know there was a problem.  And my guess is that the spamers already
know it's a live address or you woulnd be getting so much spam...

The guys on the pygtk list had a similar problem, but they were not
moderating the list, about 2 spams a day, by refusing non subscribers
the problem has disapeared.  

It's definatly a case of useing an axe rather than a scalple as you say.

But I cant think of any way that simply removes mail that wont sometimes
throw out genuine mails.
