My list would be shorter and simpler, for reasons of simplicity for
users. If it is possible we can always provide sub-divisions under these
categories for our own purposes if we wish.

My list would be:
Importing
Storage
Reports
User Interface
Translations
Developer interface
Documentation.

(Note one extra that I omitted from the mention on IRC).
While *I* understand what we mean by the terms "backend", "register",
"engine", etc. (because I've been talking with serious developers for
way too long) the average user will not understand these terms. Keep it
simple and obvious.
