Register really broken

I don't use SX's (another story), but concur with the assesment that it
looks like the update isn't happening properly.

When I tried this, it let me put in three splits, but the weird part is
- when I tabbed passed the last item on split 3, it took me back around
to the first item on that same line - instead of adding another split.
