multi-currency accounts

Hello everyone,

gnucash is really moving ahead; If things do not work as expected this is
probably due to lack of understanding of how to setup gnucash and not so much
bugs. But lets try to sort this out.
The standard currency in my setup is Euro. There two more accounts with other
currencies. These three accounts are subaccounts. The total of all three
accounts seems to be given correctly in the higher level account. Each
account has two TOTAL columns in the main accounts ledger. While the first
column gives the accounts total correctly in the respective national
currency, the second is in Euro (i.e. the standard currency). For foreign
currency the sum is always 0,00 EU; is this a feature or a bug?

The respective currencies are in the price editor with the conversion rates
pulled down from internet.

A problem (or feature) whic may be related concerns the total columns for
stocks. The first total column next to the "description" column contains the
number of stocks plus their ticker symbol. I would expect the far right
column to show the current total in EU for that particular stock package.
(Again the current stock quote comes from the internet via the price ditor
tool (works fine);

Is this a feature? or a mishandling on my part?
