Postgres support

I'm curious...is the PostgreSQL interface under active development?  I
*really* want to get away from Quickbooks for our basic accounting, and
gnucash looks like it's getting closer to what we need.  If we could
convince it to talk with our database, then it could deal with all those
subscription payments and such in a relatively straightforward way.  That
would be cool...
