Problem with make distcheck

Well I'm running it again atm on my RH7.3 machine here to make sure. I 
wonder if this is just something that isn't on my gentoo machine or if its 
something to do with the newer auto* tools there. If you could try 
distcheck on a RH9 machine and see if it happens there too?
