Check elsewhere on your system?  If you're getting the srfi
error, it means that there are still gnucash srfi files lying
around somewhere.

I thought this was done by the above?  Or are you saying that gnucash
decided to re-install it?

Something seems VERY b0rked on your system.  At this point I have no
clue what's going on.  It sounds like you have guile & slib
misinstalled or doubly-installed and the system is getting confused.
Either that or GnuCash thinks it needs to install srfi even though
you're compiling against guile-1.6 -- perhaps you have multiple
versions of guile installed and it's picking up the wrong version?

Sorry, at this point it's down to "there is something wrong on your
system", and unfortunately I can't do much other than suggesting
places to look.
