I think I asked the same question some time ago, and the result went 
into the po/glossary/gnc-glossary.txt ...

"price type: ask"       "An ask is an offer to sell, and the price you 
want to sell at."
"price type: bid"       "A bid is an offer to buy, and the price you 
want to buy at."
