no rule to make target on po

Thanx for the pointer. Unfortunately, this did not help. I did a make 
distclean and a cvs update -C
same problem:
make[2]: Leaving directory `/usr/local/src/gnucash/intl-scm'
Making all in po
make[2]: Entering directory `/usr/local/src/gnucash/po'
make[2]: *** No rule to make target `all'.  Stop.
make[2]: Leaving directory `/usr/local/src/gnucash/po'
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/local/src/gnucash'

any other clues? Apparently the binaries have been created, so at least 
gnucash can be used.
