The GUI for manipulating LOTs is extremely important....

Definitely the HEAD.  Maybe the 1.8 branch if the work is stable,
but I'd recommend working off the HEAD first and then pulling it
up to 1.8 once you've got it working and tested.  Just my $0.02.
