* Where did you install the gnome2 branch?  i.e., what did you give as 
  the '--prefix' argument to `autogen.sh`?
* What is the output of `which gnucash`?
* What is the output of "`which gnucash` --version"?
* What command are you using to start the installed gnome2 version?
