Honestly, I don't know.  I'd like to remove the "separate bindings"
file if possible -- or be capable of building multiple bindings for
different languages from a single configuration (bindings for guile,
perl, etc.).

What I really want to do, however, is revert GnuCash back into a C App
(instead of a guile script), and hopefully reduce the number of
loadable modules supplied.  I'd also like to reduce the amount of
gnucash code that calls out to scheme and then back into gnucash, but
I'm not exactly sure what the right way to do that is, yet.
