Gnome2 Budgeting

Hi All,

Well it has been a long time since I have been anywhere near active on
this list and for that I appologize. Life, as often happens, has
gotten in the way. Now that things are calming down a bit however, I
am finding myself extremely eager to finish what I started on the
Budgeting engine.

>From what I can tell the state of cvs is largely where I left it but
from the mailing list I can see that there has been work progressing
in the wings. There are two main areas that I want to address right
away but I don't want to duplicate any code that has already been done
if I can help it.

1) Making budgets persistent. This is a big one. Need to get it done
before most else is worked on so that I can build up a suitable set of
test data. I have seen Chris' xml which looked good. If there is any
code to go along with it, I would be happy to finish if off and get it
ready for cvs if needed.

2) Integrate the current Budget UI into the G2 UI style. This will
involve making a plugin page for the Budget List dialog, and one for
the Budget Workbench dialog. I don't think this should be too
difficult, but then it has been awhile since I looked indepth at the
code.

3) Finish the Track Budget tab.

4) Fix any other G2 bugs so that we can start thinking about a G2
release. There is not much point to a Budgeting engine if the rest of
Gnucash doesn't work.

Thanks,
Darin
