I also just upgraded to 9.3, though I also had a problem on 9.1.  I couldn't 
run without modifying macros/ because GNOME2_PATH had 
the value "/usr/local:/opt/gnome:/usr" and macros/ wasn't set up to 
handle a list of values.  I have locally modified macros/ to add 3 
-I flags with the 3 directories.  Is there a better solution?
