make distclean problem

I updated from r14497 to r14731 yesterday. While I was trying to run  
make distclean, my mac complained:

cd . && /bin/sh /Users/dbr/dev/gnucash/missing --run aclocal-1.9 -I  
macros -I m4
configure.in:2368: /sw/bin/gm4: ERROR: recursion limit of 1024  
exceeded, use -L<N> to change it
autom4te: /sw/bin/gm4 failed with exit status: 1
aclocal-1.9: autom4te failed with exit status: 1
make: *** [aclocal.m4] Error 1

Is that -L<N> intended for the aclocal command? Should I be editing  
my copy of configure.in? Has my rash upgrade from autoconf 2.59 to  
2.60 caused this? Suggestions?
