The question is absolutely valid, but currently the status is still as
mentioned on
http://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/FAQ#Q:_Is_there_a_version.2Fport_for_Windows.3F
and none of the currently active developers has tried it recently, to
our knowledge.

As a first step someone should give an overview about the gnome/gtk
dependencies of the various gnucash modules. Each one that doesn't
depend on gnome but only on gtk is probably ready for compile on windows.

One should probably start with libqof which depends *only* on glib and
neither on gtk nor on g-wrap and guile. Anyone to give it a try on windows?

However, g-wrap is still an open issue and guile probably as well. Do
these compile on windows? If the g-wrap code generator doesn't compile,
as a workaround we could copy the generated code from linux to a windows
build tree. But the libraries are required on windows, so someone
interested in a windows port should first check whether g-wrap and guile
are fully available on windows.
