using 1.9 for the first time sucks

This is also a known issue...  :(
Part of the problem is that gnucash-1.8 was bad about only saving
"open" reports -- it saved ALL the reports it's ever known about,
and the "open" reports were saved in the MDI file.   We don't read
the MDI file in 1.9 -- perhaps we should.
