It looks like g-wrap isn't compiled with glib support. I'm guessing
your system doesn't have glib1 anymore, and thus g-wrap built without
it. g-wrap 1.9.6 (and 1.3.4), as distributed, needs to be modified to
look for glib2 instead of glib[1].

Get g-wrap-1.9.6 from <http://www.nongnu.org/g-wrap/>, or better yet
from a ubuntu package.
I understand there's a debian unstable build of gnucash-2.0.0 that might
work on Ubuntu.
