Is this RFE easy or difficult to implement?

I don't know C programming, but I was wondering if it is something that
could be done by simply duplicating some existing code and modifying it
in a simple way.

As a newby, I could think that it could be done using the normal
register code and gui, with some little modification.

Or is it a difficult stuff, that would requiere ?
