Online Banking.... the web-scrapping way...

Hi,

I was trying to setup OFX Direct Connect with my bank
(WellsFargo) when I realized that (If i'm not
mistaken) you actually have to pay Wells Fargo in
order to get OFX Direct connect.

So currently my online banking is limited to going to
the Wells Fargo website, downloading the OFX files and
importing in gnucash (this works well enough)

I have now created a Perl script (based on
WWW::Mechanize) that will go and download the the OFX
file for me. This is very primitive for now but I'm
wondering if there would be anyway to integrate that
kind of script into Gnucash.

There is a bunch of perl modules on CSPAN that are
doing the same thing for a number of banks, and that
would certainly deserve to be integrated with Gnucash.

What would be the way to integrate such web-scrapping
scripts with gnucash?

Warning: I'm not really willing (due to lack fo free
time) to spend a lot of time on this, but I'm willing
to contribute my scripts for wells fargo and other
banks I use, and if there is someone out there already
thinking about that kind of things, I'll be happy to
know.

Thank you.
