You already committed a patch which will probably fix the issue.

And it will not.  Mimicking the given process, I tagged before running
'make distcheck', so there are no tarballs up yet.

Please ignore the tag (maybe I will delete it again).  The 2.2.3 release
will be deferred for about 24 hours, so I ask you all to checkout the
branch and test whether it works for you.

Regarding the future process, please see my follow-up post after the
release.
