Installing SLIB

Not to distract, but I'm trying to compile gnucash 2.2.3 and the 
configure utility cannot find slib.

Looked at the previous bug reports about this as reported by the 
configure utility and have created the symlinks mentioned there.

no luck.

I have guile installed and the /usr share/guile directory is listed as:

configure cannot find slib even with the symlinks in place..

Anybody know what is going on with this difficulty to find slib??
