If anyone is interested, I filed a couple of bugs against libgda 3.1.2
relating to this:
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=498213
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=508455

Version 2.16 is the least needed to compile (on my linux box).
Otherwise, it fails to find some headers. The configure script attempts
to check for 2.20, but does not fail if one uses an older version.
That's the second bug.
