Indeed.  For completeness, similar functionality but without the pause
button can be found in

a) trunk/src/import-export/hbci/hbci-interaction
b) branches/aqbanking3/src/import-export/aqbanking/gnc-gwen-gui, here
with a dynamic depth of sub-operations ;-)

That code probably cannot be reused a lot, but maybe it can answer a
question that may come up.
