Dear Alex,

sorry for the additional delay, but now your patches are in the repository: 
I've just committed your code and documentation patch in the "trunk" branch 
today. I hope this will generate at least some little feedback, because so 
far apparently nobody reacted to this patch. If some more people could 
confirm this to work as expected, it could very well be back-ported to the 
2.2 branch.
