I removed both the libdbi compliled  libs and to make sure I removed libdbi 
again with yum.  Then I built and installed from Fedora SRPMs.  Again make 
debug works whilst normal make doesn't.

Looking at the cvs change log for Fedora there appears to have been no changes 
in lidbi since Mon Feb 11 20:21:58 2008
