Christian,

Maybe you should just remove the date from the name of this news file?
The date in the filename has no real meaning right now; only the date
inside the file is used for anything.  This way you can keep bumping the
date in the notice without renaming the file all the time?

Just a suggestion to reduce patch sizes ;)
