No, and now I can't reproduce the problem. I think I had a register open for
the account whose name I changed, but I just tried that, and it was handled
correctly (the register's tab reflected the new name immediately and the new
account name was available to splits).

And that's what I'm seeing now. I apparently hit a case that isn't handled
correctly. I'll play with it a bit more to try to reproduce it.
