What version of Msys are you running?

I'm afraid I'm not going to give you a great answer but:  you might not be
able to build it on Vista.  The build server is XP, and I think most of
the devs that do any development on Windows use XP.

Is there any particular reason you need to build on Windows?  Are you
trying to debug and fix windows-specific issues?  If not I think you might
have better luck doing development on Linux, and once the patches are in
the code you can pull down the windows nightly builds to test there.
