You are right.
I tried the importing and I can get the double transactions to be imported
into GnuCash for desktop in both accounts where they are relevant. However,
they do not seem to be linked, because when I click on 'Splits', I do not
see the other end of the transaction.

They seem to be treated as two separate transactions although they both
clearly have the same transaction ID in the OFX file. This seems to be on
the side of GnuCash desktop handling of the double transactions in OFX.

I will try to see what are the options. Manually matching the transactions
again is a lot of work.
