Is OFXHome Permanently Dead?

Well, that’s unfortunate. BTW, it was ofxhome.com <http://ofxhome.com/>, not ofxhome.org <http://ofxhome.org/>. The last Wayback machine snapshot is https://web.archive.org/web/20240224065325/https://ofxhome.com/ from February 24. None of the server features like the REST API or search work of course, but the bank info is accessible via the Direcrory link.

So is https://web.archive.org/web/20240224065325/https://www.ofxhome.com/ofxforum/viewtopic.php?pid=109005 which announced in 2022 that the site had been taken over by leaksignal.com. I looked at their website and found a support email, support at leaksignal.com <mailto:support at leaksignal.com>. https://github.com/leaksignal seems to be active with commits to some of their repositories in the last week. 

The only immediate issue for GnuCash/AQBanking is that the bank lookup feature in AQBanking’s user setup depends on the REST API so it’s broken. Potential users will have to key in the OFX Direct Connect parameters based on the info in the directory.

Longer term I think OFX direct connect is pretty much at end of life. It’s not secure and the way Quicken/Intuit went to make it secure, OFX Web Connect, is AFAICT not a direction we can follow. The same goes for FDX.
