Christian,

We have a policy about controlling the CVS tree. It's very clear that
you don't agree with it. However, do you think you are going to
persuade anyone to change their mind by just repeatedly complaining
about not having CVS access? It's my opinion that your email
signature and constant complaints are a very rude and inappropriate
way to get what you want.

Different projects do things in different ways. We do things by
letting Dave Peticolas examine, integrate, and commit patches. I am
personally very happy with the current setup and I think it's a bad
idea to give *any* individual developers CVS access.

It's not that anyone is trying to keep YOU out of CVS; I don't believe
that any of the patches you have sent have been rejected. It's that
the Gnucash project isn't set up to allow any developers to have
direct CVS access, and most of the developers think that's a good
idea.

The Gnucash project is run collectively by its developers. If the
weight of opinion of the developers is in favor of giving all of us
CVS access, then that's fine with me. However, as far as I can tell
most developers like things they way they are. You are completely
welcome to try to persuade people on an individual or group basis, but
your current behavior just seems childish and is unlikely to change
anyone's mind, except possibly to devalue the importance they give
your opinion.

If the current setup is inconvenient for your personal development
style, you might want to look at cvsup, which I haven't used but I
understand is a way of keeping a local CVS repository synced with a
remote one. That way you can commit as often as you like to your
local tree and then submit patches to dave at your convenience.
