DAMN, I was hoping you wouldn't apply this, because it's b0rked.
This causes the 'configure' to finish but then the 'make' blows
out.
I applied a better patch in the mainline (see the diff for 1.15->1.16)
which should be applied _INSTEAD_ of this patch. Please back out this
change otherwise you will have even worse problems.
