Resize gnucash window when register is open

compute_optimal_width is used by gnucash_sheet_size_request to return
the minimal size required by the widget. It should not reference any
current window size. Otherwise, it is impossible to reduce the width of
the gnucash window once a register is opened (at least with the layout
applied to the sheet).
