    Bug 747812 - unset LDFLAGS when unsetting CFLAGS
    
    Since some LDFLAGS settings depend on corresponding CFLAGS ones,
    e.g. -fPIC, unsetting only CFLAGS will cause the test-compile to
    fail because of the mismatched flags.
