I've been using gnucash for 6 months now (thanks to all involved), and
have been confused many times. Based on this experience, I'd like to
offer my suggestions - these represent my ideas about what would have
been helpful to me.

(1) First: show how to construct a -very basic- set of accounts.

Assets
  Bank
Income
  Job
Expenses
  Food
  Clothes

Show how to initializee the bank account, how to enter checks, how to
record income, how to transfer

(2) Next, show how to add a credit card. This includes creating an
expense account for finance charges (unfortunately).

(3) Next, show how to split your income, so that you can keep track of
withholding, medical deductions, etc. This involves more expense
accounts. It's probably a good idea to show the new chart of accounts at
the end of every step, as well as the beginning chart at the beginning.
I imagine that each step is a separate page.

(4) Loans: how to do car loans, mortages, school loans. (I'm not sure
how to do this one correctly.)

(5) Reports: how to create some reports. It would be a good idea to
explain the accounting ideas behind each report, as well as examples.
Some are easy - I'd start with "transaction rreport" since it is obvious
what this is. ("Account balance tracker" is partially useful, but there
should be choices about what is displayed. The categories are not useful
for checking accounts - for me.)

(6) How to print information. (Will it be possible to print the chart of
accounts?)
