installation problems

Having troubling installing and running gnucash version 1.4.x.

Here are my problems:

1) despite the fact that I have libesd.so.0.0 installed, my RPM manager
says it still has this file as a dependency for gnucash. Where does this
file need to go?

2) Whenever I try to run gnucash I get this message:

"Multiple segmentation faults occurred; can't display error dialog"


I'm running SuSE Linux 7.0, kernel 2.2.26. I am using gnucash-1.4.3-1,
gtk-1.2.8-32, xmhtml-1.1.15-135, gettext-0.10.35-207,  libxml-1.8.7-79,
gnlibs-1.2.4-10.src,  imlib-1.9.8.1-32, scheme-3.2-75.

Please let me know what I need to do next. Thank you.
