Incomplete records: how to deal with them?

Ehr, I think I got lost midway through your explanation... my problem
is that the original portion is outside the scope of my accounting, it
was bought before. Perhaps another ad-hoc equity account?

There may be a language problem, for me, here: by "denominate" I mean
attaching a currency name to an account. Is this correct?

In that case, how do you denominate an account with fund shares? The
listbox holds only currency names... or maybe you mean that I should
create an equity account for the purpose of holding the initial amount
of shares?

Happens both with 1.4.3 and 1.4.6 and both in trading2.xac and in my
own accounting.
