tracking cash

I use a Palm application called Qmate and record the cash 
transactions as they occur.  I then import the resulting .qif into 
GnuCash.

I'm looking for an alternative to Qmate though, since Windows is 
required to create the .qif, since Qmate syncs via a Windows-based 
DLL :(

I'd really like an open alternative to Qmate, but have yet to find 
one.
