Importing GNUcash 1.4.3

Hi,
I have upgaraded to GNUCash 1.4.8 (From 1.4.3). The problem I am having ist 
that GNU-CASH 1.4.8 is not importing my old data. It asks me if I want to 
continue loading the old-version-file and after I press 'ok' gnucash will 
either crash or enter but without showing my files, as if I created a new one.

Does anyone know what has to be done for me to import them?
