Re GnuCash Features Survey

Hi folks,

I have followed the discussions with much interest and I am sort of amused 
that I as an rather old (57) nontechie (M.D.) was able to get gnucash 
installed after many failures ( for example compiling did not work, many 
dependency problems) with the Mandrake package. 
There is one thing I cannot solve. Importing my old gnucash files went 
smoothless. But, at opening some of the accounts the program crashes. I 
reported this earlier on this list and even sent a test file to Dave 
Peticolas who saw no irregularities. I then sent a kind of bugreport, but 
till now got no answer. Paul  Poulain on 23 june reported the same problem.
I will repeat the error messages below in the hope that someone who 
understands them (I do not) can give me a clue
