Tabbed notebook view?

I've got gnucash up and running. One quick question, though. How do I get
the tabbed notebook views to work? If I select "notebook" in the
preferences dialog, I get a separate column down the left side of the main
window. However, when I open an account (double-click on account name) it
still opens in a separate window. Any ideas?
