installing

This application, gnucash, has got to be the absolute hardest application to
install that I have ever run across. There are links on the web page that
don't point to anything but an empty directory, (guppi). A discription of
guppi (as used by gnucash) states that you need 0.35.5 or later, but when you
click through the various links download->guppi->source all that shows up is
Guppi-0.35.2.tar.gz. Bear in mind that there is no link to a guppi web site
anywhere. And i'm only writing about Guppi, i've had similar problems with
other dependencies. I'm begining to suspect that this application is meant
to be used soley by redhat/mandrake users. From what I can see of the
screenshots, the product gnucash seems like it's a pretty cool application.
I wouldn't know though because i can't even get to the installation of the
program because of the umpteen dependencies that are required with little to
no aid in getting them installed properly on ones system.

thanks,

frustrated
