Data backup

Dave, thanks for your help. I have managed to recover about half of my stuff 
.... files generated with version 1.4. The latest list of entries that was 
done with 1.6 is recovered as a file but I get :

This file appears to be from a newer version of GnuCash. You must upgrade 
GnuCash to read this file.

Would you know if there is any way of getting the data into GnuCash ?

BTW, your previous help saved me a number of (painful) hours of re-entry ...
